Our Gems of Wisdom

  • Start early.... and keep it simple!
  • Don’t underestimate the importance of clear communication and well-defined expectations
  • Take advantage of using hierarchical state charts; explore using multiple charts in parallel 
  • Don't take apart bread-boards, and just buy new components if possible to solder, The breadboards are useful for testing software and debugging!
  • Understand differences in motor performance, and characterize the differences early
  • Make sure that timing and speed constants are easily modifiable in the code - it will be much easier to calibrate performance at the end!
