The game is patterned loosely on an absurd mashup of Jousting and Nerf Battle. The object of the game is to unhorse your opponent by knocking them off their steed with a lance. You may also score points by hitting your opponent with thrown foam balls or throwing the same kind of foam ball into your opponents goal. Information about the state of the round was made available to combating robots via wireless serial peripheral interface (SPI) communication.
Points will be awarded for the following:
- Reaching the opposite end first (+1),
- Throwing balls at either the opponent or at their goal (+2 per ball), and
- Having your lance strike their bot body (+10)
- An unhorsing is an automatic victory (+25).
There will be three rounds, with side walls approaching the middle wall with each successive round.
